All-Terrain & Off-Road
Two things separate a genuine off-road electric skateboard from a street board with knobbly tyres: what the wheels do to vibration, and what the trucks do to it afterwards.
The Apex runs 150 × 50 mm pneumatic tyres on all-terrain suspension trucks. Air and suspension together absorb the hits that would otherwise reach your knees, which is why it is the more comfortable board on genuinely rough ground despite having half the motor power of the Relentless. It is rated to 200 kg - the highest load it can handle in the fleet - and climbs 25°.
The Relentless runs 140 × 50 mm airless honeycomb wheels on wide 10-inch double-layer trucks and 7000 W of dual belt drive. It is faster, it goes twice as far at 50 km, and it cannot puncture. It is also less forgiving on rough terrain, and it demands an experienced rider.
Choose on ground, not on price. Loose, rocky or genuinely rough with a heavier rider: Apex. Long, fast, mixed off-road sessions where outright power matters: Relentless.
One note South African riders should know before buying either: electric skateboards are not registered road vehicles under the National Road Traffic Act, so public-road use is not technically permitted. Most off-road riding happens on private property, estates, farms and trails. But, check your local laws.
